Top 5 Things I'm Thankful For 2021

It is that time of year again where I am thinking about what I am thankful for. There is definitely a lot that has happened for me this year that I could possibly be thankful for. I moved into a new place that my brother was nice enough to rent to me, my parents gave me a car once they retired, I got promoted twice, I found the man of my dreams, I got a kitten and so much more. 

1. My Family

I am forever thankful for my family. I do not believe that there will come a year where I won't be thankful for them. They took me in at the age of two when I was in the foster care system. They adopted not only me but my twin brother too. They had given us a life that we probably would have never been given anywhere else. They brought me back and forth to two different jobs this year when I didn't have a car even when they could have told me to walk or to find a different way. They allowed me to stay in their house rent-free to help me get back on my feet. When it was time for me to leave their nest once again my older brother offered to rent me a room because he didn't want me moving in with some stranger. I couldn't be more thankful for that. My dad had retired and gave me their old car when he got a new car even though he didn't have to but it has helped me significantly. 

2. My Other Half

I am forever thankful for the man that I call my other half this year. I found him within my darkest times. We didn't talk for a few months then reconnected once again. It is honestly funny how that worked out but at the original time I believe we were both scared and not ready for what was going to happen between us, but here we are several months later happy and in love. He has helped me so much this year in ways I can't even begin to explain. He taught me how to love myself when I always thought that I couldn't. I learned how to view the world from a whole different perspective. My fear of snakes is almost completely gone for I held five different ones the night before two of which is the bigger of the five. I found a new love for crested geckos. They are the sweetest and cutest creatures I have ever seen. It is an amazing thing when you can have different outlooks on things and I will forever be grateful for that so If you read this, my love, I love you 3000!  

3. Aspen

For those of you who don't know I got myself a kitten about 4-5 months ago and she has been nothing but amazing to me. she is 6.5 months old now and has one hell of a personality. She is spunky and hyper and adorable. She loves to catch mice and try to give them to you. She loves to chase her own tail and play fetch like a dog which makes me laugh every time. She has this very specific section of the couch that she really loves to curl up in and she will stare at you until you move so she can go lay in it. She climbs me whenever she is scared and hides on my shoulders. She meows at you and stares whenever she is hungry. She was everything I ever needed and more at that time and I am so thankful that I got her. 

4. Work

I will always be thankful for work I mean it is what helps pay the bills right? This year I started working at Mcdonald's once again back in March. Since starting I have gone through two promotions and have met some of my greatest friends with the best of stories, whether they be customer-related or coworker related.  Yes, the job can be overwhelming sometimes but what job isn't? I wouldn't change it for anything. 

5. My Blog

Last but not least I am thankful for this blog. It is the beginning of my writing career and I hope it will help me go too far places and be great for sample pieces for a portfolio. The name came from the fact that I upload every article usually by Midnight every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday every week.
